Bore Tide Midwifery
Ride the Wave
Cindy Earley, CDM, CPM: I am a mother of eight who has been involved in childbirth education, doula work, and midwifery for over 20 years. I am a passionate supporter of a mother's autonomy in birth, viewing my role as that of a safety net and protector of a woman's sacred space. Since starting Bore Tide, I have had the privilege of working collaboratively with many other wonderful midwives in the community, and it is the strength of these connections that enhances the care of all of the mothers we serve.
Samantha Beard, CDM, CPM: I am a lifelong Alaskan with deep roots in our Anchorage community. I worked as an advocate and social worker before being introduced to the birth world. I have supported individuals as they are exposed to the full spectrum of human experience--from crisis and trauma, to healing and recovery. This work has cultivated a fierce belief in the resiliency of the human spirit and the transformative power of a self-determined and embodied birth experience.

Cindy is incredible! She took the time to listen to my husband and I. She learned what we were looking for in our birth experience. She presented us with options and information without pressuring us or trying to influence our choices. By the time I went into labor, I felt that Cindy understood what we were looking for in an ideal birth and did everything she could to create that environment. Our daughter had an amazing, peaceful, at-home, water-birth. Thank you Cindy!

Cindy was a wonderful midwife. She was very professional, open to discussion, accepting of our opinions, her follow up appointments with baby and I were amazing. I would recommend her any day.

I saw Cindy during my last pregnancy and she was so kind and compassionate, I couldn’t help but feel calm when I was with her. It’s clear she has the knowledge and experience to empower mamas everywhere to take charge of their own birth.

Cindy is a rockstar. She is patient and kind. Appointments felt like meeting with a friend, never rushed or forced. Cindy does a very good job of empowering you with knowledge, yet presents all of your options without judgement. It takes a special type of woman to be a midwife. Compassion, patience, spirituality, assertiveness, gentle bedside manner, humor, intelligence, passion, perseverance, grit, hope, patience, but most of all, love, are just a few of the qualities one must have to be a midwife. Cindy embodies all of these and more.

Cindy has delivered my three children in the span of 10 years. She has our family's trust, love and so much respect. Besides being very knowledgeable and professional, she is an incredible individual with warm and cozy personality, and a great sense of humor. She is a great listener and will always have answers and options for all of your questions and concerns. She is there for you during your pregnancy, labor and birth. I knew I could count on her every second. I wish I got pregnant again just to be able to have her as my midwife!

I have had the pleasure of working with Cindy for 2 homebirths and expecting my 3rd with her by my side. She is extremely patient, responsive, never leaves you with an “I don’t know”, and holds true passion that you need during pregnancy and postpartum. I experienced horrible postpartum after my second birth and Cindy was really the only person who seemed to care and that I openly talked to. I choose Boretide Midwifery hands down. The service and care I have received has impacted my life, my parenting, and even my marriage. I’m so grateful.

Childbirth Classes
We have several classes to choose from, based on your specific needs. Drawing from 20 years of experience as a childbirth educator, and previously certified with The Bradley Method and Informed Beginnings, Cindy has created both a 4 hour class and a 3 day/12 hour class, each with a private upgrade option.
4 Hour Childbirth Preparation Basics - $100
This class includes discussion on the different stages of labor, comfort measures for
mom, techniques for partners to use, helpful tips on working with your body, use of a Rebozo, handling back labor, and much more!
4 Hour Private Childbirth Class - $200
The same information as the Childbirth Preparation Basics, but you will be the only client
present, so there is more flexibility on the time and location, including in the comfort of your own home. Additional options include splitting the class up into two 2 hour segments on separate dates, and tailoring information to your specific needs. This class is ideal for busy clients that need a class to fit around their schedule.
3 Day Condensed Series - $300
Combining all of the information previously taught over a 12 week series, this is the most
comprehensive course available. This class includes the same topics offered in Childbirth
Preparation Basics, with the addition of practice scenarios, nutrition and breastfeeding, birth
options, handling complications and interventions, and extensive relaxation training. Classes will be 4 hours in length held over 3 non-consecutive days, for a total of 12 hours of instruction.
3 Day Private Series - $600
Same class as the 3 Day Condensed Series, with the same flexibility as the Private Childbirth
Class.
